# Words at Rest > Words at Rest is an independent website offering free English word search puzzles for adults and seniors. Play online at https://wordsatrest.com/ or download selected large-print PDF packs. No account, app download, timer or score is required. Edited and published by Reggie J. The site language is American English (en-US). Puzzles cover everyday interests, nature, hobbies, faith and seasonal themes. The live directories are the source for current availability; catalog totals change as content is added. Online play: find the listed words in straight lines by dragging across their letters or tapping the first and last letters. Keyboard users can enter the grid with Tab, move with arrow keys, select endpoints with Enter or Space, and cancel with Escape. Found words remain highlighted. Progress and the Standard/Larger grid preference are saved in the current browser on the current device; they are not synced through an account. Optional analytics consent is not required to play or save progress. Puzzle formats: - Easy: 10 by 10 grid, 10 words, forward horizontal and vertical directions. - Medium: 12 by 12 grid, 14 words, horizontal, vertical and diagonal directions, with no backwards words. - Hard: 15 by 15 grid, 18 words, all eight directions, including backwards words. - Dedicated large print: 9 by 9 grid, 8 words, forward horizontal and vertical directions. The Larger display setting is also available on other online puzzles. Daily dates use UTC. A new featured puzzle is available at midnight UTC. From October 8, 2026, a published day can include up to ten puzzles: one featured puzzle and an "Also today" list linking to other theme puzzles. Earlier days retain their original featured puzzle. The homepage and /daily share the featured puzzle and saved progress. Published archive URLs use /daily/YYYY-MM-DD; future and unpublished dates are unavailable. Use the calendar to find valid archive links. Printable packs provide US Letter and A4 PDFs with puzzle pages and answer pages. Some packs contain six puzzles and others contain two; consult each pack page for its current contents. Downloading does not require an email address. Refer to the Terms of Use and the pack page for permitted use; free access does not imply permission to sell or redistribute the content. Word searches are offered as entertainment, not as treatment or a proven way to prevent dementia or improve cognition.
