Bible words and their meanings
These eight words appear in our Virtues large print puzzle. The short explanations are editorial summaries, with passages for optional reading and group discussion. They are not verse quotations; wording varies between translations.
- FAITH
- Trust and confidence in God, including what cannot yet be seen. Hebrews 11:1.
- GRACE
- God’s freely given favor; a gift rather than something earned. Ephesians 2:8.
- HOPE
- Confident expectation rooted in God’s promises. Romans 15:13.
- JOY
- Gladness named among the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22–23.
- KINDNESS
- Considerate care for others, expressed in actions and forgiveness. Ephesians 4:32.
- LOVE
- Patient, generous care for another person. 1 Corinthians 13:4–7.
- MERCY
- Compassion toward others, following the example of God’s mercy. Luke 6:36.
- PEACE
- A quality named among the fruit of the Spirit, alongside love and joy. Galatians 5:22–23.
