Dogs puzzles
What words are in the dogs word search?
Dog puzzles use everyday companion vocabulary — leashes, walks, fetch, collars, kennels — plus training words and a few broad breed groups such as terrier, spaniel and retriever. No breed-club or pet-brand names.
The full dogs word bank has 40 words. Each puzzle picks a set from this list, so no two grids are quite the same:
BALL · BARK · BEAGLE · BED · BLANKET · BOWL · BRUSH · CANINE · COAT · COLLAR · COMPANION · CUDDLE · FETCH · FRIEND · GROOM · HEEL · HOUND · HOWL · KENNEL · LEASH · LOYAL · MUTT · PARK · PAW · PUPPY · RETRIEVER · SCRATCH · SHEPHERD · SIT · SNOUT · SPANIEL · STAY · TAIL · TERRIER · TOY · TRAINING · TREAT · WALK · WATER · WHISKER
Who is this theme good for?
For dog owners, dog walkers and anyone who misses having a dog around. It is a cheerful, low-pressure theme with mostly short, familiar words.
A solving tip
Short words like SIT, PAW and TOY are hardest to see. Leave them for last, and look for them along the edges of the grid, where short words are often tucked away.
How these puzzles work
Every puzzle is free and plays in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Drag across a word, or tap its first and last letter. Easy grids are 10×10 with words across and down; medium grids are 12×12 and add diagonals; hard grids are 15×15 with words in all eight directions. Press Large print above any grid for bigger letters. Progress is saved on your device, and there is never a timer. New to word searches? Read how to play.
